Fund for the families of Craig Carlson and

Contributions are being raised for the families of the two IBEW Local 292 members who died while doing their jobs on October 13, 2011. CVS Pharmacies: January 27th, 2012
At the last Trust meeting it was passed that 292 members can use CVS to fill their perscriptions. CVS is now using Union labor to build their stores, and starting February 1st members can fill their perscriptions there as well.

Day on the Hill: January 23rd, 2012
The IBEW 292 annual Day on the Hill will be held this year on March 6, 2012. Our day on the hill event gives you an opportunity to meet with your local legislative representatives and express to them what you think is important you. This individual discussion has proven to be much more effective than our efforts as a group. There is some important legislation coming up this year; a new bonding bill and a new vikings stadium project bill which will help put our members back to work. One of the most damaging pieces of legislation which will be introduced this year is a "right to work" referendum. Our legislators need to be educated on how damaging this referendum, if it were to become law, would be to the working men and women of this state as well as further damaging our fragile economic situation. Please mark your calendars and make every effort to attend this important event. If you are able to attend, please notify the office at 612-379-1292 (or email office@ibew292.org ) to RSVP so we can order enough red shirts to increase our visibility when we "take the Hill" on March 6th.

Annual IBEW Fishing Derby: January 1, 2012
Let Jeff Heimerl or Carl Madsen know if you want more information on the Annual I.B.E.W. Fishing Derby, which will be held February 18, 2012 at Devils Lake, North Dakota. All IBEW members and their families are invited to attend. The registration fee is $25.00. Children under 18 are free. Included in the registration fees are a Hospitality Room at the Great American Inn & Suites Friday evening beginning at 6:00 P.M., lunch between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. on Saturday- on the ice, and an Awards Banquet on Saturday evening at the Great American Inn & Suites. Dislocated Workers Program: November 16, 2011
How to qualify for dislocated worker funds through your county workforce center (each county is different on the amount of funds, and even if they have funds at all) - download the flyer on the Members Downloads page (listed on the right after you login), and make an appointment with your local Workforce center for an Orientation Class. When you do you'll need to fill out a 'pre-eligibility form' (also in the PDF). The Employment History form can be filled out at the Orientation. If everything is approved you could use these funds to pay for JATC classes.
