Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Earlier today (Wednesday 4/8/2020), Governor Walz has extended the stay at home order. Under Executive Order 20-33, the order to stay at home is extended until May 4, 2020. Under this new order, there is no change to the exemption of construction and critical trades. “Workers in the skilled trades such as Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC and Elevator Technicians, and other workers supporting construction of all kinds” are exempt.

Due to the extension of the stay at home order, IBEW Local 292 has cancelled the April 14, 2020 General Membership meeting. For the safety of our members, staff, and their families we will NOT be conducting the previously planned drive-up voting for Election Judge/Tellers and the Inside Agreement Allocation. Instead we will be moving to the alternative plan to conduct this important business, as described below.

The Wage Allocation and Election of an Election Judge and Tellers. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, our International Union has approved our Executive Board to temporarily modify our By-laws (for this year ONLY) and decide these issues. The Executive Board of Local 292 will be called to a special meeting on April 14, 2020 for this purpose. The Executive board will elect an Election Judge and Tellers from the nominees who have submitted their interest. If you have not done so already, please submit your self-nomination for the position of Election Judge or Teller to by Sunday April 13, 2020 at 7pm. During this special meeting, the Executive Board will also select one of the three vetted allocation options that are currently posted on the 292 website.

If you want to contact the Executive Board Members their email addresses are posted on the website and are listed below:

Anthony Carter

John Hall

Myles Lembke

Dan McConnell

Kurt Tulp

We will still conduct the webinar as described below to provide information on the three allocation options as posted at

There will be an informational webinar on Monday April 13, 2020 from 5pm to 6pm, explaining the allocation options for the Inside Agreement that we have put out on the website. The link below will bring you to the webinar:

If you have questions on anything contained in this letter or anything else, please do not hesitate to call and ask.
